Mark Gray received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from Old Dominion University and his Master of Science degree from Purdue University in Environmental Science. The subject his thesis at Purdue was bioaccumulation of lindane and trifluralin in fish tissue. As Lab Services Manager for Citizens Energy Group in Indianapolis Mark is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the field sampling and analytical work for the water and wastewater utilities, including a team of ten analysts who perform testing for a wide constituents of concern from alachlor to zinc on a routine basis. He served on several water quality teams within Citizens including Geist, Morse, and Eagle Creek reservoir water quality monitoring, taste and odor monitoring and control, and algal toxin monitoring. Mark’s involvement with the drinking water utility and, and now the wastewater utility, has allowed him to stay connected with his roots in central Indiana and maintain his interest in improving water quality as another aspect to public health.
Mark grew up in Speedway, IN and now lives in Avon, IN with his wife and 3 children. He is passionate about his support for the Avon High School band programs and enjoys golf, bowling, and fishing in his spare time.
