Dave Scott is currently the pesticide administrator with the Office of Indiana State Chemist (OISC), which regulates the production, storage, distribution, and use of agricultural and non-agricultural products such as seed, feed, fertilizers, agricultural ammonia, and pesticides throughout Indiana.
Dave also serves as the Secretary to the Governor-appointed Indiana Pesticide Review Board. This is the pesticide policy and rule making body for Indiana. Dave has been employed in the OISC pesticide section in a variety of positions since 1978 and has held his current position since 1988. In addition to development, implementation, and enforcement of Indiana pesticide laws and regulations, OISC is also responsible for implementation of many of the provisions of the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. EPA. Regulating pesticides and fertilizers in a manner to minimize impacts on Indiana water quality is a significant part of those activities.
