Gretchen Quirk

Growing up on the south shore of Lake Michigan sparked Gretchen’s interest in the environment and water quality at an early age. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University’s Natural Resource & Environmental Science program, specializing in Water Quality. Since 1999, she has worked for the Marion County Public Health Department in Indianapolis. As a water quality specialist, Gretchen enjoys sampling Marion County’s surface waters for macroinvertebrates and contamination from bacteria and chemicals. Her department also samples groundwater from private wells and educates the public on various water resource issues. She has been a board member since 2014 and currently serves as InWMC Treasurer.
