The Catalog of Monitoring Protocols was developed to:
- Make information on the methods used for water monitoring by agencies in Indiana more easily accessible
- Facilitate discussions between other organizations conducting monitoring about how they might more closely align their methods to support data sharing
- Enhance the comparability of data collected by different organizations throughout Indiana to agency-collected data
The agencies and programs in the catalog include monitoring protocols for:
- Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Watershed Assessment and Planning Branch and Hoosier Riverwatch
- Indiana Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Division and the Lake and River Enhancement Program
- Indiana Clean Lakes Program
- Indiana Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
- U.S. Geological Survey National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program
This valuable resource developed in collaboration with Purdue University with funding from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Nonpoint Source Program. The catalog is maintained by the InWMC’s Coordination and Collaboration Committee, which works with the agencies listed above to ensure the most current information available.
